Required qualifications include documentation of completion of education as an APRN, current certification as PMHNP by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center and a current, unrestricted license to practice in the State of Florida

DESCRIPTION GENERAL SUMMARY:The Wellness Nurse within our Senior Living Community, provides direct and indirect care to residents in a sensitive, professional, and effective manner. The Wellness Nurse performs his/her duties under the supervision of the Resident Wellness or Memory Care Director while adhering to mandated nursing standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision making * Serves as the 'Charge Nurse' in the absence of the Executive Director and/or Resident Wellness/Memory Care Director * Contributes to all aspects of medication management * Ensures all resident care specialists are familiar with the residents' individual conditions and are trained to provide the resident services in an effective, professional and sensitive manner * Assists the residents with administration of medication * Implements plan of care recommended by the Resident Wellness/Memory Care Director * Provides accurate and timely documentation of all care provided to residents * Administers medication as prescribed by a physician * Assembles and maintains resident charting and accurately maintains all records * Completes accident and incident reports as required * Maintains relationships with residents, family members and responsible parties * Ensures adequate and appropriately trained resident care specialists are available for each shift within company and state guidelines * Communicates daily with the Resident Wellness/Memory Care Director and other team members KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contacts * Knowledge of current Federal and State laws pertaining to Assisted Living and Memory Care * Ability to make independent decisions * Must be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring manner * Must be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) * Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens POSITION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: * LPN or RN license EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum Two (2) years experience in the senior living environment * Strong leadership skills with a minimum of two (2) years experience in supervising and management Watercrest Senior Living Group Sebastian FL
