As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) specializing in Urology, the role involves integral contributions to patient care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians by assessing patients, conducting comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications under physician supervision, and providing patient education.

In addition to inpatient and outpatient care, the PA/APN serves as a supportive liaison within the surgical team, collaborating closely with Primary and Alternate Supervising Physicians. Professional interactions extend to medical and surgical administrative staff, as well as patients.

The position requires active participation in daily surgical rounds, conferences, clinics, and procedures, offering technical assistance and ensuring continuity of care during both scheduled and emergency situations. Under direct supervision, the PA/APN assists surgeons during operations, striving for optimal patient outcomes.

Furthermore, the PA/APN is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care in collaboration with physicians, residents, and nursing staff. This role plays a pivotal part in facilitating effective patient management and care delivery.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Required: Bachelors Degree

Specify Degree(s): NCCPA certification

Minimum Experience:

Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA)

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

ACLS

Other: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program NCCPA certification, Licensed in the State of Illinois
