The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing direct patient care to assigned patients within an urgent care setting. This is a professional level position working under limited direction yet in coordination with an APN lead.

Typical work scenarios require specialized knowledge, critical thinking, good judgment based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Internal contacts include medical staff and management throughout the clinic and health system. External contacts include patients, physicians, outside medical staff, and community resource services.



Master of Science in Nursing

Successful completion of American Nursing Association National Certification Test for Advanced Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner

Licensed by the State as an APRN

Prescription authority licensure in State.

Knowledge of national medical best practices within an urgent care setting

Knowledge of communication skills with ability to listen actively and respond to fellow employees/customers in a timely, competent manner both verbally and non-verbally

Knowledge of and skill in the use of personal computers and related systems and software

Knowledge of department policies and established confidentiality policies

Skill in effective interpersonal, oral, and written communications including grammar and spelling

Ability to work independently, efficiently under pressure, and take initiative when needed

Ability to meet organizational and departmental appearance standards on the job


2 years' experience as a APRN in a family practice setting, urgent care, or related field

VIEW JOBS 2/4/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-04T00:00 Description The Behavioral Health Provider is responsible for providing psychological services and the promotion of behavioral change to patients presenting in Multi-Specialty services with concerns ranging from psychosocial considerations to physical and mental health concerns. Conducts psychosocial evaluations and is grounded in the behavioral medicine knowledge base and quickly assesses, diagnoses, and synthesizes medical and psychiatric data to formulate effective, evidenced based clinical recommendations. Selects and interprets self-report questionnaires to assist with diagnosis and development of treatment plan. Consults and collaborates with multi-disciplinary team in order to provide optimum treatment planning. Uses a variety of brief evidenced based therapies with motivational interviewing as the foundation of communication with patients and family. Monitors patient's progress and requests input, revising treatment goals as necessary. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field; minimum of 3 years post-licensure experience providing counseling. Competency in providing a broad range and mix of brief cognitive and/or behaviorally-based interventions. Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with Behavioral Health experience, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT) required. Must maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, ability to drive and have access to a car. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Specialized training in health psychology; experience working in primary care settings. Demonstrated intermediate to advanced competency in deploying evidence-based practices commonly used in PC settings, i.e. Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Problem Solving Therapy (PST), Behavioral Activation (BA), Relapse Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), biofeedback, etc. Experience with psychological assessment and treatment of children and adolescents.
