Overview

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide primary care with the collaboration/ supervision of a physician. The APP will be responsible for a regularly appointed clinic, compatible with workload and, in addition, provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur. More specifically the duties include:

Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems Collect & record medical history Perform general physical exams Function as primary care manager for a schedule of patients Examination, interpretation and implementation of treatment plans Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities Assist in internal quality control audits

This position is part of the Kettering Physician Network team. Responsibilities & Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Masters Degree required:

  • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners.

  • Graduate of approved Physician Assistant program with current PA license in the state of Ohio; certified by State Medical Board of Ohio; certificate to prescribe for prescriptive privileges

Knowledge, Abilities and Experience:

  • Patient, courteous, and tactful Ability to communicate and relate well with staff, physician(s) and the public. Must have awareness of patient confidentiality and be able to follow directions well from physician(s) and work autonomously with little direction. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations and critical analysis skills Demonstrates ability to function under stress; ability to multi-task Maintains competencies and skills of specialty area of practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPR and ACLS preferred
  • 2 years expierence Internal medicine

Responsibilities & Requirements Under the supervision of the physician and/or practice manager, assists and delivers patient care duties, and provides administrative support throughout the practice. The Medical Assistant is responsible for: * Assists physician in examinations. * Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician. * Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. * Stock rooms with adequate medical supplies, wash and dry instruments, and prepare sterilization as required. * Assist with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or physician(s). * Keeps medical records in accordance to procedures and forms. * Follows principles of medical ethics. * Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager. Job requirements: * Must either have six months experience as a Medical Assistant, OR, have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards. * Successful attainment and retention of CCMA, CMA (AAMA) or NCMA certification or RMA plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning. * Must also be willing to accept orders and perform repetitive tasks. * Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and public, follow direction, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks, be patient, courteous, and tactful. * Computer literate in use of word processing and email. Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in a medical environment to gain practical knowledge in the following areas is preferred:examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion. * Experience in electronic medical records.
