Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider will be in the General Surgery Department and have responsibilities in the OSU Medicine General Surgery and the OSUMG Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery Office. The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing clinical services and care within the OSU System. This position will facilitate care in accordance with the APRN/ARC-PA Standards and Oklahoma State University policies.
APP Principal Faculty Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice (100%)
Provide medical care to patients in the General Surgery Department. This includes office clinic, hospital, emergency room, and other duties.
Provide medical care to patients in the Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery Office. This includes office clinic, hospital, emergency room, and other duties.
Complete adequate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
Complete adequate and timely billing.
Provide hospital inpatient coverage when needed and requested by providers.
Other duties as designated by the Department Chair of the General Surgery Department.
Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry push, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Requirements:
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program OR accredited APRN program.
NCCPA certification or APRN certification.
Oklahoma State License preferably with current DEA, OBNDD
Valid Driver's License
Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Leadership skills demonstrated by participation in local, regional or national PA programs.
Preferred:
ACLS, BLS, PALS certification
Experience in General Surgery, Wound Care, Plastic Surgery
