Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will be in the General Surgery Department and have responsibilities in the OSU Medicine General Surgery and the OSUMG Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery Office. The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing clinical services and care within the OSU System. This position will facilitate care in accordance with the APRN/ARC-PA Standards and Oklahoma State University policies.

APP Principal Faculty Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice (100%)

• Provide medical care to patients in the General Surgery Department. This includes office clinic, hospital, emergency room, and other duties.

• Provide medical care to patients in the Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery Office. This includes office clinic, hospital, emergency room, and other duties.

• Complete adequate and timely documentation in the EMR system.

• Complete adequate and timely billing.

• Provide hospital inpatient coverage when needed and requested by providers.

• Other duties as designated by the Department Chair of the General Surgery Department.

Environmental Hazards:

Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry push, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Requirements:

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program OR accredited APRN program.

• NCCPA certification or APRN certification.

• Oklahoma State License preferably with current DEA, OBNDD

• Valid Driver's License

Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Leadership skills demonstrated by participation in local, regional or national PA programs.

Preferred:

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certification

• Experience in General Surgery, Wound Care, Plastic Surgery
