Summary of Work
Behavioral health Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) leverage the full scope of mental health and substance use treatment services - assessment, diagnosis, treatment, behavioral health medication prescribing, and patient education - to create and manage individualized treatment plans. APPs work independently and collaboratively as part of an integrated team service model.
This position provides in-person, on-site services to those with behavioral health disorders. Remote or tele-health service provision is only considered at the discretion of the statewide administrative team.
APPs with ND DHS must be committed to the behavioral health specialty with a willingness to research new treatment options, to partner with patients at their level and to consider solutions that maximize the patients' opportunities for success.
Behavioral health Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) candidates must have one of the following licensures, as well as active unrestricted DEA registration number:
ND Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
Registration in another state and eligibility for advanced licensure in North Dakota
Certified Physician Assistant with employment contract registration with ND Board of Medical Examiners
Behavioral health specialty certification including but not limited to:
Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP
Adult Psych-Mental Health NP PMHNP
Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist PMHCNS-BC
Psychiatric Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ)
AND Two (2) years of mental health medication management experience post-behavioral health specialization degree.
Position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
