The Section of Infectious Disease and International Health (IDIH) at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) team. The OPAT team follows patients who require prolonged courses of intravenous (IV) antimicrobials for complex infections. The IDIH Team provides Hospital-based and outpatient consultations for the full spectrum of infectious diseases of adults and children, an International Travel Clinic, a comprehensive Infection Prevention Program staffed by physician epidemiologists and infection preventionists, a very active Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, an Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy program, and a Regional HIV Program, which provides multidisciplinary care to persons with HIV in Lebanon, Manchester and Nashua, New Hampshire and in Brattleboro, Vermont.

This position will work with patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting with support of Infectious Disease physicians and will collaborate closely with multiple other specialty departments in providing patient-centered continuity of care as patients move from inpatient to discharge and follow-up. Initial focus of role will be working with Orthopedics patients, with plans for position to grow working with other Sections. This position will also work closely with the OPAT nursing team.

  • A Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant with 3 5 years of practice experience.

  • Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: Medical or Surgical Inpatient, Infectious Disease, and/or Wound Care.

  • A motivated team player who enjoys working in collaboration with other providers and staff.

  • A candidate willing to engage in self-directed learning, with enthusiasm about Infectious Diseases

  • Excellent communication skills

This position offers an academic appointment of Instructor with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Teaching responsibilities will include bedside and in-clinic opportunities with learners.

Minimum Qualification for APRN:

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN program.

  • Eligible for APRN licensure in the State of New Hampshire.

  • Board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration.

Minimum Qualifications for PA:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.

  • NCCPA certification.

  • PA license or (eligibility) in the State of New Hampshire.

  • Eligible for Federal DEA registration.

VIEW JOBS 11/6/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-04T00:00 The Section of General Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking an experienced advanced practitioner – Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse – to join an established and collaborative group on the Acute Care Surgery team. The advanced practitioner will be dedicated to inpatient care on the Acute Care Surgery service, which is comprised of trauma, critical care and emergency general surgery patients. He/she will work collaboratively with a team of advanced practitioners dedicated to the Trauma & Acute Care Surgery service. As such, the advanced practitioner will have a strong interest in the care of injured, critical and acutely ill general surgical patients. The advanced practitioner will report to a designee of the Chief of the Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery, who will be responsible for the clinical and general oversight of the position. The Practice Manager of the section of General Surgery will oversee administrative issues. The designated Supervising Physician will evaluate the practitioner's clinical skills and overall competency as part of his or her annual performance review with input from the Practice Manger, and members of the Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery. The advanced practitioner will be expected to work as a full time employee and work three 12 hour day shifts, 7am to 7pm. Hours may vary, and will be determined by the needs of the service and the Supervising Physician. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: RN and APRN currently (or eligible) licensed in NH. Successful completion of an approved NP program. Master's Degree required. Requirements for Physician Assistant: Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a Physician's Assistant in the state of New Hampshire. Academic preparation at the Master's level required.
