Job Introduction

Development and Preparation of system and manufacturing concepts(build sequences), layout, design, cycle time charts, capacity and efficiency calculation and working station documentation.

Major Responsibilities

  • Development and Preparation of system and manufacturing concepts (build sequences), layout design, cycle time charts, capacity and efficiency calculation and working station documentation

  • Development and improvements of standard manufacturing cells, processes and concepts for assembly system including Logistics and Quality

  • Support of GD&T / Tolerance Studies, Clamping Plans and development of P-FMEA documentation

  • Support of change management for process and quotes

  • Support of continuous improvement for Corporate Assembly Standards

  • Development and support of Cosma process engineers in facilities located globally

  • Support of Project Managers and Division Production Teams

  • Other duties that may be assigned

  • Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee's Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Cosma Way of Thinking in all aspects of position and interaction with others

  • Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position

  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures

Knowledge and Education

  • Technical education e.g. technical school, college or special studies (mechanical/electrical engineering)

Work Experience

  • Min. (5) years work experience in automotive assembly and SPOT/GMAW welding

Skills and Competencies

  • Chassis and Body-In-White Welding and fixture design experience

  • Advanced GD&T knowledge and interpretation

  • Excellent English skills (fluent in spoken and written, presentation skills)

  • Proficiency in ACAD, MS Office is required

  • Experience with Spin Fire, Vis View, MS Project and asset

  • Experience with 3D Process Software an asset

  • Excellent understanding of 3D CAD design

  • German and Spanish Written & Spoken Language an asset

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel globally and have valid travel documents

  • Excellent leadership skills, self motivated, team player

  • Must be able to repetitively utilize their forearms, wrists, and hands throughout the work-day. Accordingly, must be able to tolerate the use of key-board, mouse, and/or space ball up to 75% of work-day (i.e. up to 6-8 hours per work-day.)

  • Travel is required.

Job Experience * Level 1: 0 – 2 years of directly related experience * Level II: 2+ years of directly related experience Skills/Competencies * Must be computer literate to include basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. * Must have an understanding of chemicals and chemical hazards and the proper handling of materials. * Must be able to use various types of equipment and procedures including: vacuum pumps, vacuum ovens, gas lines and bubblers, automatic overhead stirrers, ovens, stir plates, vacuum distillations, simple distillations, balances, pH meters, and glassware maintenance. * Must have good documenting skills for R&D and custom projects * Ability to readily follow all documentation requirements and be flexible towards supporting multiple projects. * Understanding of GMP regulations and experience in clean room work environment is required * Good attention to detail Essential Job Functions * Ability to use both hands for extended periods of time while performing tasks * Moderate physical activity.
