Karma Automotive is seeking an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer-Body. This candidate will develop processes based on input from Design Engineering, Troubleshoots and Improves Current Processes; Plans and drives changes to the processes and product.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates tests for new technologies and methods.

  • Manages and implements ECRs.

  • Develops new manufacturing methods.

  • Maintains KPIs and timing for equipment procurement.

  • Creates RFQs and interact with machine vendors to secure a good understanding of requirements.

  • Documents changes and improvements to Standardized Work Instructions.

  • Develops project plans for major projects, cost and timing estimates.

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .

  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • A solid foundation in engineering concepts is a vital Manufacturing Engineer requirement.

  • Experience in Automotive Environment is desired.

  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) principles.

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail are also essential Process Engineer skills.

  • Project management, leadership and team work skills are important to ensure that all factors come together to complete a given assignment on time

  • Experience in Body Accuracy (Automotive) and GD&T would be a plus.Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related science field. The most popular Process Engineer qualifications are in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience requirements vary according to job requirements and industry.

  • Certifications favored include Professional Engineer Licence (P.Eng), Certified Professional Engineer (PE), Six Sigma qualifications and Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • CAD Experience Medium to high: Catia, AutoCAD. Desired: Autodesk Mechanical, Polyworks, Abaqus.

  • Highly valuable plus: Verisurf

  • Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.

Mentor Advanced Manufacturing Engineers on process development, planning, problem solving and financial responsibilities. Coordinates efforts to comply with established KPIs and visualization requirements. Responsibilities * Leads and mentors Manufacturing Process Engineers. * Develops project plans for major projects, cost and timing estimates. * Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. * Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. * Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. * Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. * Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. * Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. * Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests. * Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. * Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. * Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data. * Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Able to manage and plan budget on area level. * Expertise on communicating and reporting, able to teach and guide Process Engineers. * Able to identify the need of new systems and KPIs and see their implementation through . Qualifications * A solid foundation in engineering concepts is a vital Process Engineer requirement. * Knowledge of General Assembly fasting technologies, torques, Critical Parts. * Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) principles. * Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail are also essential Process Engineer skills. * Project management, leadership and team work skills are important to ensure that all factors come together to complete a given assignment on time * 5-10 Years' experience. * Leadership/management experience directing, couching and managing engineers. * New Project Lead and commissioning experience. * Experience on Modell Year Change on Body shop. * Experience with Accuracy and GD&T, troubleshooting and best practices. * Catia and Smarteam.
