Position Title: Advanced Engineer, AP Mechanical

Position Duties/

Requirements

Analyzing and designing mechanical solutions for a variety of applications within the context of the semiconductor manufacturing equipment developed by our Company; Utilizing data

gathered from the creation of testing and measurement methodologies for our design and prototyping operations to draw conclusions and make design recommendations for precision

machine design and motion system performance; Carrying out technical troubleshooting operations for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including the development of testing and troubleshooting regimens, as well as designing, prototyping, and implementing modified mechanical components to correct and mitigate any mechanical issues or risks; Devising

specifications for automated software features related to calibrations and automatic measurements for mechanical components, and providing those specifications to relevant software development personnel; Developing customized software tools for mechanical analysis using MATLAB (Matrix Laboratory), as well as C++, which is used to develop the operating systems necessary in programming procedural, object-oriented, and functional elements responsible for optimizing our electronic assembly equipment; Conducting "root cause" analysis in order to identify the root causes of faults or problems for technical issues within our mechanical systems and subsystems developed in connection with the Company's research and development (R&D) operations; Assessing mechanical designs for technical risk and overall reliability through the use of Finite Element Analysis ("FEA"), a computer-aided engineering tool that analyzes the reactions of a design under real-world conditions; and Collaborating closely with K&S field engineers and internal project stakeholders to identify new areas of machine capability and functionality, with the objective of modifying existing designs or generating new designs to enable improved functionality for our semiconductors. In order to complete the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: 3D CAD software packages; Finite Element Analysis; Data Processing (MATLAB, Python); Electronic control systems; and Mechanical drafting standard ASME Y14.5.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related occupation. Travel required - Less than 10% within in the U.S. and Singapore. Please send C.V. to amcgrath@kns.com.
