The ideal candidate is responsible for providing professional, timely, and courteous customer service in the installation, inspection, repair, alignment, brake, and mechanical areas of the Automotive Center. As part of any Sears Auto center positions you will be responsible for providing professional, timely, and courteous customer service helping our customers understand their auto service needs.


Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses and repairs to specifications brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.

  • Explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers

  • Continuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay ahead of the rapidly changing automotive technology world.

  • Demonstrates a sense of responsive urgency to every customer no matter what service is required

  • Uses the Quality Service Evaluation (QSE) form to understand customer service adviser's and customer service manager's instructions

  • Maintains an organized neat and safe bay.

Required Skills:

Certified Technician/Mechanic

  • Maintains an organized neat and safe bay.

  • 1-2 years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience to succeed in this position.

  • A high level of motivation and energy and strong customer service skills are also required.

  • Must have a Valid Driver's License.

Advanced Technician/ Mechanic

  • At least 2-3 years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience

  • 5 ASE certifications are preferred for this position.

  • You'll also need a high level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.

  • Must have a Valid Driver's License.

Master Technician/Mechanic

  • 5+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem- solving and repair experience as you mentor and teach Teammates while discussing problems with customers

  • You will also need strong leadership skills and a customer-focused attitude to go along with a high level of motivation and energy.

  • 8 ASE certifications are required.

  • Must have a Valid Driver's License.

The position will support the Depart of Defense (DoD) in the acquisition, operation and/or sustainment of optical fiber based transport. Key functions include leadership of technical teams, analysis of alternatives, thought leadership on the benefits and costs of acquisition options (lease vs buy), and updating the DISA strategy for use of optic fiber transport. Required: * BS Degree in a Communications Engineering related discipline and 8-10 years of experience as either researcher or designer/engineer in fiber-optic cable systems including domain knowledge in two or more of the following areas: * Experience in fiber-optic cable systems that may include campus, regional, ultra-long haul, transoceanic, and/or festoon designs. Experience may include system design, procurement/acquisition, evaluation (to include vendor supply chain analysis), installation, and testing of, high-speed (100+ Gbps). * Experience in the operations, administration, maintenance, provisioning, and general lifecycle sustainment of global fiber optic cable systems. * Experience with fiber optic transport subsystems and effects, such as erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, Raman amplification, electronic dispersion compensation, polarization, wavelength selective switches, reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers, optical multiplexer/demultiplexers, forward error correction, advanced bandwidth efficient modulation schemes (e.g. QPSK) and transceiver architectures. * Experience with fiber-optic cable system specific engineering artifact creation; including system concepts of operations, requirements, engineering drawings, test plans, and test reports. * Hands-on laboratory and/or deployment experience with the components, subsystems, effects, techniques, and processes mentioned above. * Experience in the use and operations of network and element management systems, system performance metrics, and service level agreements. * Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
