Responsibilities
Completes comprehensive health histories and assessments
Manage symptoms and follow-up
Performs physical exams
Sees and cares for clinic patients in follow-up, advance care planning, and Survivorship appointments
Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
Provides case management for oncology patients and their families
Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed
Provides clinical support to the clinical and non-clinical care team
Assess patient/family needs and provides education
Support the survivorship program - promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
Hospital rounding
Covers MD vacations/MD EHR queue when physicians are on vacation
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education
Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner
Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP
Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
Prefer previous experience in oncology
Physician Assistant
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant
Prefer previous experience in oncology
Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required
Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
