Responsibilities Advanced Metal Fabrication Research and Development Engineer-2 Work Location:

Wichita, KS (Onsite) Key Accountabilities: Industrializes and scales fabrication, machining, and additive metal manufacturing processes for new aerostructure applications, with a focus on high temperature metal alloys. Defines engineering requirements, qualification plans, and compliance approaches up front in design for metal additive manufacturing, metallic machining and fabrication, and advanced welding technologies.

Supports advanced metal technology manufacturing projects from concept to transition to operation through the stage gate process. Presents to middle, senior and executive leaders on the progress of a project, including cost, benefit, schedule, and risk impacts. Understands full life cycle requirements for product and process development on advanced metals projects.

Assists with trade studies for design and/or process alternatives. Capable of defining necessary resources and development plans. Works in concert with key functions to align and advance project plans.

Documents and communicates plans and evaluations for future work packages, i.e. bid and proposal. Qualifications Requirement:  Business, Financial, and Technical Acumen Ability to Manage with Influence Able to be granted a DoD security clearance Experience building interpersonal professional relationships Familiarity with metal additive technology, metal fabrication, machining, and welding technology (electron, laser beam, friction stir) Experience with fabrication and machining technology Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 2-5 years' related experience plus a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited Engineering program   Preferred Qualifications:  1+ years experience in project management, developing and sustaining projects Current DoD security clearance Experience utilizing various Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Office 365 and Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, Teams and Visio Experience with CATIA Experience using 3D modeling software slicing software for additive manufacturing Knowledge and experience with metal fabrication and machining technology Knowledge and experience with metal additive manufacturing technologies including laser powder bed fusion and various direct energy deposition processes Knowledge and experience with electron and laser beam welding and friction stir welding Experience in the following areas:
