This Adult Training Specialist (ATS) at Lakeland Village will work under the direction of the Head of Adult Programs, an Adult Training Supervisor. The ATS will write and implement training programs in concert with the Inter-Disciplinary Team. Some of the programs may be developed by other professional staff, such as a psychologist or speech pathologist or OT or PT. We are seeking a permanent, full-time Adult Training Specialist 2 or Adult Training Specialist 1 in training in the Intermediate Care Facility for the Intellectually Disabled based in Medical Lake (Spokane area) to join our team. Our Adult Training Specialists are key to the success of empowering the lives of the people we serve.
Some of what you'll do:
* Develop, write, update and implement group and individual programs for persons with developmental disabilities in classroom settings for vocational/work activities such as environmental controls relaxation and other vocational readiness skills as outlined in the Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
* Instruct, train and supervise individuals in developmental educational vocational language behavior social community survival and other trainings programs.
* Conduct/facilitate various table top activities or other activities tailored to the individual client.
* Teach client workers to maintain safety in the work/classroom environment and actively participate in development of client training plans, attend meetings and provide program input information gathered from the classroom.
* Perform duties associated with set-up, clean-up, and general upkeep of classroom, training vocational and/or habilitation areas that may include relocating large or odd shaped work materials.
* Document client classroom progress and behaviors in the Client Unit Record (CUR3) using a computer and approved state data bases; will maintain and report data per client.
* Escort residents who may need assistance due to limited mobility skills, who may be unsteady or require the use of a wheelchair between AP and their home cottage
* Understand, recall, and follow up as a direct care provider providing physical supports/intervention for clients, check on diet plans whenever assisting a client.
* Use email and appropriate state databases to develop, complete and disseminate classroom assessments and other required assessments as needed.
What we're looking for:
* Experience operating a desktop computer using Microsoft software programs, including Outlook and Word
* Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment
* Experience supporting residents who are developmentally disabled and may possess a co-occurring disorder of mental illness by teaching new skills, maintaining skills, and focusing on the resident's rights and quality of life
* Ability to follow written and verbal directions
Opportunity may be filled at the 12month in-training level of Adult Training Specialist 1.
Requirements for ATS1
High School graduation or GED.

Equivalent Education/Experience (work experience that is equal to what is described in the job announcement)
Requirements for ATS2
Additional experience such as one year as a teacher's aide in a special education classroom, or two years as an Attendant Counselor, or one year as a vocational trainer of persons with disabilities, or one year as an Adult Training Specialist 1 and completion of 15 college credit hours in the following areas:
* 5 credit hours in English composition at the 100 or higher level
* 10 credit hours in at least two of the following areas at 100 or higher level: Psychology, Education/Special Education, Computer Science, Math, or Human Services

Adult Protective Services is seeking Social Work Investigators to join our team in Vancouver, Washington.
You will investigate reports of abandonment, abuse, exploitation, neglect, and self-neglect. We need you to bring your professional knowledge and skills to advocate for vulnerable adults. Your success will be measured through gathering evidence, conducting objective, timely and thorough investigations to determine a finding based on the preponderance of evidence standard as well as assisting individuals with services that maintain their safety and dignity.
Some of what you will be doing:
* Interview clients in their home, residence and facilities investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, abandonment and/or exploitation
* Interview alleged perpetrators
* Collect and evaluate relevant information to make decisions related to investigations, services, and outcomes
* Provide client advocacy, consultation, networking, family support, and crisis intervention
* Coordinate with law enforcement, judicial entities, families, facilities, local office staff, other regional offices and community agencies/partners regarding needs of clients served
* Interview collateral contacts to gather additional information
* Identify situations presenting a risk to vulnerable adults and refer to service groups
* Refer to other community resources and internal and external stakeholders
* Authorize services and payments
* Prepare and provide testimony at administrative hearings, court proceedings, criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings
* Participate in on-going training, meetings and provide community education on APS programs
What we are looking for:
* Experience performing investigations
* Knowledge of Medicaid terminology, regulations and policies
* Understanding of Long Term Care programs and policy
* Strong critical thinking skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously making decisions, sometimes in immediate safety situations
