The Adult Day Program Staff is responsible for providing daily activities within an adult day program for each individual to support and provide instruction for individual growth, a sense of community and instruction in independent living skills.# He or she is responsible for instructing consumer's vocational living skills, socialization skills, recreational and leisure skills and functional communication skills.# These instructional objectives will be part of the consumer's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and instruction in the day program will be the Adult Day Program Staff's primary responsibility.# The day schedule will be 7:30a.m. " 4:00p.m; Monday - Friday. # Basic Qualifications # Education/Training: #High School Diploma required, or Associate's Degree in Education, Human Service Field, or Psychology preferred.# Certifications/Licensure:# A valid US driver's license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.# Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status.# Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, and Melmark's Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program. Skill(s):# Must demonstrate strong reading, written and oral language skills.# Strong instructional skills with emphasis on Consumers who are emotionally, behaviorally, physically and/or developmentally challenged.# Experience or interest in the principles and application of Applied Behavior Analysis, curriculum and special education (Autism Spectrum Disorders).# Strong interpersonal skills are required.


Prefer at least one (1) year experience with specialized populations.# Advanced skills in educational and clinical services will be required in this role. Interrelationships:# Consumers served, families, program managers, and all other department staff. # #Salary:#High School Diploma - $17.31 per hour

Ensures all program goals are met, all regulatory requirements are followed, and all staff duties are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the day programs. Ensures the highest level of care, service and engagement with the participants in the program area as well as identifying appropriate community activities and/or possible employment opportunities. Ensures that a continuous active treatment program is provided for all individuals to best enable them to attain and maintain the highest possible level of skill and independence. # Basic Qualifications # Education/Training:## Bachelor's degree required. #Master's degree preferred in human services discipline from an accredited college or university. Certifications/Licensure: #A valid US Driver's License and minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.# Capability of attaining approved Melmark driver status preferred.# Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention.# Successful completion of Melmark Medication Administration Certification courses as needed.# Successful completion of all Melmark required training. Must have one of the following by 1/1/19 or within 120 days of hire if hired after 11/1/18: Hold a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential from the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE); or Have been awarded a Basic Employment Services Certificate of Achievement or a Professional Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services from an Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) organizational member that has ACRE-approved training. Skill(s):# Knowledge of regulatory standards for PA's ODP 2380 regulations.# Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office.# Requires strong interpersonal skills, good writing, communication and organizational skills. Experience:# A minimum of five (5) years experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is required. ##A minimum of two (2) years of management experience is also required.## A minimum of two (2) years driving experience while holding a U.S. state vehicle driver's license is also required. # Melmark New England Berwyn PA
