Adult & Community Education - SmartSummers Program 2024The Public Schools of Brookline is seeking qualified and dynamic candidates to teach in Brookline's Adult & Community Education SmartSummers program for children ages 5 - 12.
The program will run from July 8 - August 16.
Program session dates, locations, and hours vary. This program will meet in person.
Teaching topics include but are not limited to: arts, crafts, theater, computers, intramurals, martial arts, robotics, drones, singing, coding, etc.
The projected class size will vary depending on enrollment.
If there are not enough people enrolled, specific classes or the program may not run.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Works with Program staff and other instructors to design and teach a curriculum that provides opportunities for students to increase their skills and interest in a given area.
Interacts with and understands students in ways that create a climate of respect, support, and high expectations.
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in spoken and written English
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States
Preferred Qualifications:
Past experience working in a public school with children as a teacher, paraprofessional or teachers' aid.
