Reports to: Adult Instruction Lead, General Manager
BP Adult Climbing Instructors are responsible for bringing the industry's most unique, accessible, and innovative climbing instruction experience to life. They are responsible for providing unparalleled levels of customer service, engagement, and connection as they introduce people to and support them on their lifelong journey with climbing in a way that is healthy, sustainable, fulfilling, and fun.
Expectations
Embody BP instruction values of being welcoming, supportive, positive and constructive in all circumstances
Be in constant pursuit of better understanding climbers through dedicated empathy and a desire to connect with individuals
Foster community amongst participants
Show up on time, be present, and exist in the right mindset for the program you are facilitating
Display confidence in taking leadership enforcing safety protocol
Maintain calm and composure in the midst of high stress scenarios
Regularly manage groups of adults of varying experience levels and curate excellent learning environments in a busy climbing environment
Spend adequate time interacting with the local community in order to gather feedback and assess the impact of the work being performed.
Potential to engage with Private Instruction, meeting clients needs within our space in a one on one or small group setting. This would include giving instructors the ability to set their own rates depending on the level of instruction provided split with the gym.
Qualifications
Experience instructing or coaching climbing in a professional environment preferred
Good communication skills and the ability to provide, receive and implement feedback
Passion for climbing and community development
Ability to move 50lbs on soft flooring
Must be able to pass a background check

Training and Development
Conduct yourself and encourage a culture that best represents the expectations of the BP programs department, BP's values, and local leadership
Maintain the highest possible standards or risk management and be in constant pursuit of ways to mitigate risk
Provide critical and constructive feedback to the Program Lead regarding product, experience, job satisfaction, morale and workload
