Savers, Inc. is looking for an Operational Leader to join our "Attended Donation Stations Team" as a Driving/Area Manager. This ideal candidate will be instrumental in fueling our growth plans in the Greater Boston market. Interested in joining a great organization, developing a newest arm of supply chain? We are looking for the right Driver/Area Manager to join our team to help establish/ develop/grow/lead our teams in this new initiative and assist in the development of a successful program model. For over 60 years our business model has added value and benefit to the donor and local community, through our ADS recycling efforts, this new arm expands our reach and impact. Our program accepts gently used clothing and household items donations from the community while benefiting local charities. Getting paid while giving back, that's a great formula for success.

Detailed Description

The Driving/Area Manager will:

  • Work with the Regional Manager and local Non-Profit Partner to build a successful business model

  • Be directly involved in developing and growing the Market and the program

  • Hire, train, manage a market team consisting of Ambassadors, leads and logistic support, with a focus on motivation, encouragement and accountability to sop and the NPP

  • Drive a collection truck and provide logistic support to all market Sites

  • Build Brand awareness in each community where ADS sites are located

  • Establish, communicate and achieve volume and cost metrics

  • Complete, review and submit required reports and paper work in a thorough and timely manner

  • Work on-site as required to maintain business continuity (i.e. absences, vacation coverage or during peak donation seasons)

  • Build exceptional relationships with donor, our charity and community partners

  • Ensure safety and security of sites by making unannounced visits, ensuring frequent team member interaction, and auditing inventory

  • Respond quickly to opportunities or concerns in order to sustain quality service to donors, charity partners and team members

  • Manage the P&L statement for the area and ability to speak to results

  • Partner with support groups HR, trucking, sourcing, procurement and marketing to ensure flawless implementation of programs and practices necessary to grow supply and maximize this service area

  • Work within the respective communities to drive awareness and increase donations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and experience needed to be successful as the Driving Area Manager:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Some college courses in business or human resources would be beneficial

  • A minimum of 3 years management directly supervising employees

  • Experience working in a high-volume customer service setting

  • Experience in inventory management, stocking, logistics, trucking delivery would be great!

  • Clean driving record

Additional Details

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently throughout the day

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • High School degree or equivalent, some college preferred

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

  • Background in customer service preferred

  • Inventory management experience a plus

Tools and Equipment Used:

  • Laptop for data entry

  • Cell phone to communicate to employees and supervisor

  • Scale to measure product weights

  • Material handling equipment (OK carts) for storing and loading product
