Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. We offer a continuum of mental health and addiction services through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT programs. Our overall goal is to provide the highest quality treatment possible for drug abuse and mental health issues in order to help our patients achieve good health and long-term sobriety. Fort Lauderdale BH is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Adolescent IOP Therapist (LCSW or LMHC) - Monday

  • Friday from 12pm

  • 8:30pm

The Adolescent IOP Therapist works a hybrid schedule but with the assistance of technological devices in helping individuals overcome psychological/emotional issues. The Adolescent IOP Therapist will demonstrate the ability to perform group, individual and family therapy. They will also perform psychosocial assessments, family sessions, and formulate treatment plans. The therapist will be able to recognize crisis situations and provide interventions. Ability to work collaboratively with peers, administrators, physicians and allied staff is a must. Therapist will conduct all client interactions through Zoom and other alternative forms of communication.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's Degree from accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling.

  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience working in a Behavioral Health Center or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or children treating co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with an understanding of co-occurring disorders, and Cultural Linguistic Diversity amongst patients.

Licensure:

  • Licensed in FL - LHMC or LCSW,
  • BLS/CPR certificaton

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge of therapeutic philosophies (group and individual treatment skills)

  • Working knowledge of developmental stages

  • Some minimal knowledge of community resources

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients with varied ability to understand

  • Strong assessment skills and ability to intervene in a variety of situations

  • Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices
