Position Type: Non-Supervisory
Schedule: Monday through Friday- 9:30am-2:30pm (whole shift)

Shift 1- 9:30 am-12pm

Shift 2- 12:30-2:30pm

Start date June 10th and end date of August 16th

General Statement of Duties:

Tour guides will work with Undergraduate Admissions to support enrollment at WSU by providing an elevated visit experience to prospective students and families. Tour guides must have strong communication skills, outgoing personalities, and willingness to share their positive experiences about WSU.

Guides have a strong sense of pride and love to meet and talk with new people. Reliability is vital since tour guides are representing the Admissions staff and WSU as a whole. A tour guide becomes the face of the University and may be one of the only people prospective students meet, thus having a direct role in applications and enrollment.

Responsibilities:

1.Provide campus tours to prospective students and families

2.Lead tours for student groups visiting from college access organizations or local high schools

3.Attend tour guide training in early June and any additional training opportunities throughout the summer

4.Support with outreach to prospective students by phone, email, and writing thank you notes

5.Assist with administrative office work such as filing, mailing, and data entry

6.May be given opportunities to attend Recruitment events with/for Admissions

Requirements:
1.Excellent communication and customer service skills.

2.Comfortable with walking around campus

3.Be able to work independently and as part of a team

4.Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preference is given to those students with involvement in other student organizations, clubs, athletics, or leadership positions.
