Summary:

The Admissions Summer Intern will work in the Admission Department assisting in the recruitment of students during the summer period between the time classes end in May and begin in August. The Intern will assist the Admissions staff members in communications with prospective students, completing data entry projects, giving campus tours, and assisting with Admissions events/programming.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Intern will be responsible for communicating with prospective students and their families throughout the students' admissions process, with seniors that are applying for admission to MHU for the upcoming academic year and junior inquiries for following academic year. The Intern will give tours to students and their families when they visit campus.

The Intern will conduct admissions interviews with students and families during the visit and answer questions and provide needed information. The Intern will assist in preparation of summer orientation programming and provide assistance at the event. The Intern will complete various data entry projects, as well as completing various miscellaneous assignments throughout the summer.

Qualifications:

This position is reserved for a current MHU student from any discipline. Preference is given to students that are part of the Student Ambassador program and/or students that participate in Admissions activities/programming.

Student must be trained and willing to give campus tours, meet with students and families when they visit campus, and communicate with students and families over the phone, by email, and text. Student must have a general knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Student must be flexible with job responsibilities, as there are many random duties associated with this position.

Student must be available on some Saturdays. Student must be willing to commit to the position for the full summer, until classes resume in the fall.
