This position will be responsible for processing inquiries from prospective students, contacting and assessing the level of interest of potential students for the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD), and supporting the Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing in generating new applications and ultimately driving new enrollments to the school with operational excellence and digital marketing expertise.

Incumbent will have daily interaction with prospective students in person, via email, social media, and over the telephone. Incumbent will support the efforts to improve potential student satisfaction and success. Individual must possess high energy, flexibility in coping with change, and have a results-driven work ethic as well as a keen understanding of drivers of student success. As directed by the ED, the position will sometime take direction from the team's Digital Strategy Lead with respect to the utilization and reporting of the Salesforce database and other digital tools.

Essential Job Functions

Outreach/Enrollment Responsibilities

  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) system for accurate and thorough tracking and accurate reporting of student recruitment activities including the documentation of contacts with all prospective applicants and students; Create and maintain communications tools such as email templates, text/chat responses, department's e-packets, etc.

  • Respond to inbound communications from a pipeline of leads/inquiries.

  • Proactively communicate with prospective students via email, WhatsApp/WeChat, text, chat, phone, and other mediums.

  • Develop relationships with prospective students and applicants in an effort to recruit the most qualified students through the use of effective consultative sales skills.

  • Consistently and timely follow up with students in the Applicant Journey; ensure that all required documents are received and application is completed; coordinate transition from application to admissions with Program Directors as well with the Offices of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies.

  • Provide information on basic immigration regulations to applicants as required.

Customer Service Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact and customer service representative to prospective students and families; provide consistent, accurate, and timely information about the SEHD programs.

  • Respond to inquiries via telephone.

  • Work the general inquiry email inbox; respond to inquiries and transfer all inquiries to Salesforce on a daily basis; forward to program administrators as appropriate.

  • Establish and maintain an extremely high level of knowledge regarding programs, services, processes and policies in order to provide accurate and comprehensive information to prospective students and their families.

Team-based Responsibilities

  • Work closely with program staff to update knowledge on academic programs, features/benefits, student services, market conditions and competitor activities.

  • Effectively communicate industry trends, quality of leads, and program updates for appropriate cross-functional

and departmental team members.

  • Actively participate in meetings to discuss performance data, prospective applicant concerns, and

creative solutions to enhance team performance.

  • Promote a positive and congenial atmosphere and working relationship with students, employees,

supervisors and other individuals.

  • Work in a team-based approach to develop recruitment strategies for particular constituencies and/or

regions.

  • Work with other members of the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing to understand the strategy and direction from the ED and other team members.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Minimum one to three years of experience in admissions, enrollment, recruitment, marketing and/or

sales, customer service, account management or relationship building required, preferably in higher

education.

  • Strong computer skills required, such as working CRM systems, e.g. Salesforce, Office applications,

e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and social/chat applications, e.g. What's App, WeChat; Working

knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.

  • Proficiency in the use of computerized systems and databases, customer relationship management

systems required; prior Salesforce experience preferred.

  • Fluency in English required; Additional language skills highly desirable.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form required.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail required.

  • Demonstrated sense of international and multicultural awareness, and understanding required

in order to best serve the needs of our diverse applicant pool.

  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure required.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships required.

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions required.

  • Other marketing duties as assigned.
