Job Summary
- The Admission Representative is accountable for expert knowledge related to policies, regulations, work flow, and software utilized in the hospital and clinic registration areas.
- The Admissions Representative is responsible for collection of deductibles, co-pays, and coinsurance; directing patients, families, and visitors to the business office for payment assistance options and requests; coordinates day to day workflow and serves as a resource to staff.
- The Admissions Representative is responsible for specialized job functions including prevention of admission related insurance denials; providing education and support to departments that provide hospital and clinic patient registration services; and providing education regarding insurance eligibility and the patient payment estimator.
- Additional duties and extended responsibilities for workflow and processes are involved. The specific responsibilities will meet the Avera Patient Access standards and the facility where the responsibilities are handled.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree preferred.
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Health Information Management, Medical Assisting, or similar preferred.
1-2 years' experience required.
3-5 years' experience preferred.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Every 5th Saturday during AMG O'Neill Acute Care Clinic 8:00am-12:00pm
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
