The Admissions Rep/Registrar functions as a Shift Lead Employee is responsible to commit to the UHS Service Excellence Standards, register patients accurately and efficiently, insurance verification, collects money due at the time of service, and complies with all department policies and procedures. Additionally, the Admissions Rep/Registrar assists with the process of monitoring productivity, accuracy of registrations, patient flow, scheduling staff and training new staff members.
One year Registration Required.
High School Graduate or equivalent. 2 year degree helpful.
1 year registration experience required.
Knowledge of insurance requirements and/or third party reimbursement
Able to communicate effectively and demonstrate service excellence through appropriate response and use of constructive problem solving techniques when confronted with different people or situations
Previous computer entry experience and able to type 40 WPM with accuracy in spelling
Use of effective communication skills which foster positive outcomes. Able to maintain a high awareness of patient satisfaction and team work. Able to pay attention to detail and work in a stressful environment
Collections experience and Medical Terminology preferred
Must be willing to learn duties and responsibilities of other positions and float as necessary.
Receptionist or related experience required. Physician practice experience or healthcare experience preferred.
