Job Description:
The Admissions Recruiter assists in the attainment of student recruitment goals; assists in the planning and execution of on and off-campus events along with under-represented student recruitment-related programs; assists with identifying opportunities and strategies that provide inclusive and equitable access to a KCU education.
The Admissions Recruiter is required to travel up to 50% of the time, with heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the attainment of student recruitment goals with an emphasis on diverse and equitable recruiting strategies
Plans and executes a variety of student recruitment-related programs and/or events
Helps with the execution of recruitment events including on the Joplin and main campus in Kansas City
Accurately maintain current records while maintaining confidentiality
Coordinate and disseminate a variety of communication
Ability to multi-task, balance multiple projects in stressful situations and with frequent interruption, yet, able to perform assignments accurately, attain deadlines, and maintain positive relations
Demonstrated ability to facilitate small to large meetings, while providing excellent customer service
Excellent follow-through skills required
Ability to work in a team environment and interact closely with team members
Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Willing and available to travel, with the heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring up to 50% of the time
Contributes to the overall team effort by performing other duties as needed/assigned
Assist with general office support and other administrative tasks (i.e., filing, preparing documentation). Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
Actively participate in team and University meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Two years of Admissions, Student Affairs, marketing or sales experience, preferably in an academic institution of higher learning with involvement in recruiting an underrepresented population. (Student work experience will be considered to meet this qualification.)
Experience in a higher education setting preferred
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a strong working knowledge of databases
Must maintain on-going, insurable driving record
Excellent oral/written communication and presentation/public speaking skills
Requires ability to maintain computerized record keeping systems
Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and able to work independently and/or under minimum supervision
