Job Summary
Each admissions recruiter is responsible for recruiting and managing the recruitment process for assigned programs and territories to help achieve enrollment goals for Johnson University. Admissions recruitment, counseling, outreach, office management, and program and event coordination are all significant functions of this position. Admissions recruiters must possess a drive to reach enrollment goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strong commitment to the mission and core values of Johnson University
Recruit students to Johnson University and its other campuses
Answer emails/texts/phone calls in a prompt, professional manner
Plan and organize travel to recruitment events in designated areas
Present Johnson University professionally and compellingly to large groups
Facilitate and conduct campus tours
Participate in group recruitment event organization
Create relationships with high school counselors, students, and other school environments
Establish relationships with students for participation in Genesis Weekend and initial acclimation to Johnson University
Generate creative ways to participate and assist with new applicant events at Johnson University, i.e. Royal Welcome, Preview Days
Become proficient in the use of the data management system
Direct application paperwork for applicant file and processing
Communicate regularly with applicants and accepted students, documenting all communication
Maintain system notepad for recruitment prompts
Advise applicants and prospective students and answer their questions in clear and timely ways
Evaluate and recommend applicants for admission to the Director of Admissions
Recommend students for scholarships, grants, scholarship waivers, character scholarships, and financial need scholarships

Cultivate a general understanding of the history, mission, and purpose of Johnson University
Work with other Admissions team members to facilitate events on and off-campus
Occasional travel to college fairs, conferences, schools, and churches to promote Johnson University and build partnering relationships
Maintain consistent presence with local high school counselors and schools to promote ongoing engagement with prospective students
Work with other Admissions team members to facilitate text and social media campaigns to engage with prospective students
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to establish positive public relations for Johnson University; and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people
Discretion and good judgment are essential since the admissions counselor reviews sensitive admission materials and communicates policy and procedure
Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and prioritize a high volume of work daily
Ability to resolve problems and to develop relevant alternatives and recommendations
Excellent customer service and interactive skills
Excellent organizational skills and a high level of accuracy
Excellent people skills; able to have command of a group when giving tours
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Efficient and accurate use of Microsoft applications
Working Conditions
Friday, 8:00 a.m.
5:00 p.m. Evenings and weekends occasionally required.
Local and regional travel as necessary.
Working at a desk in a climate-controlled office.
Willingness and ability to travel; a valid driver's license, able to lift and carry marketing/promotional materials (up to 30lbs)
