Job Description:

The Office of Admissions is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Applicant Services team as an Admissions Officer I. This role coordinates the initial processing of various applications while maintaining extensive inbound and outbound communication with applicants and academic departments regarding the application process.

Responsibilities Include:

Applicant Support

  • Serve as a primary contact for the Office of Admissions by answering phone calls and responding to email inquiries.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of admission requirements and business processes.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of majors, degrees, and program levels.

  • Understand immigration documents, Residency Rules, and Regulations for tuition classification.

  • Support OneStop staff with escalated admissions inquiries via phone, email, or in person.

Applicant Data Management

  • Coordinate initial processing of various applications (undergraduate, graduate, professional, certificate, distance, and online).

  • Manage application data in Slate and ensure accurate integration with Campus Solutions.

  • Create and maintain organization records in the student information system.

  • Ensure synchronization of data between Slate and Campus Solutions, including locations, accreditation, and organization codes.

  • Manage departmental requests and troubleshoot data discrepancies in MyAdmissions and SIS systems.

  • Finalize admitted student applications, review credentials, manage holds, and evaluate hold deferral requests.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in cross-functional events, committees, call campaigns, and assist in creating reference materials.

  • Assist in cross-training applicant services employees.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the supervisor.

This position may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary:

$40,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to establish work priorities, coordinate the timely completion of work assignments, strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with customer service and public relations.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work and training assignments.

  • Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
