The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining student eligibility for admission to the University, processes and evaluates applications and transcripts, determining residency status, and reviewing appeals for exception to University Policy. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Admissions Office Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator II). Under general direction, the Admissions Office Coordinator is responsible for providing high-level office support to student, faculty, staff, community members and guests. This position plays a key role in working with applicants and students throughout the admissions process.

Provides high quality service in all interaction with applicants, counselors, and parents of prospective students. Assess and communicate admissions requirements to prospective students, applicants, and others. Plans, initiates, executes, and coordinates complex projects, activities, and events with accountability for results.

Evaluates and makes recommendations related to operational and procedural matters. Uses knowledge of specialized policies and procedures to complete assignments. Provides budget support by monitoring and reconciling budget account, processing requisitions, and compiling budget reports.

Acts as a part of the responding team to Service Now inquiries, emails, phone calls and Live Chat responses. Uses a variety of office support technology and systems such as word processing and spreadsheet packages to complete assignments. Pulls data and provides information for reporting usage statistics.

Also, makes edits to department website. Coordinates and schedules meetings and events as needed. Independently addresses a wide range of work unit problems, which require interpreting policies and procedures and using ingenuity to put information together in new ways.

Coordinates and works with individuals at all levels within the organization. Responsible for completing multiple work unit projects and priorities simultaneously. Assists Director with special projects as needed.

Provides lead work direction, training, and guidance to student staff, as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.

Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.

Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist. Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area. Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas.

Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference. Ability to effectively write and present own reports.

Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels including highly sensitive interpersonal situations. Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Must possess the ability to problem solve and coordinate activities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse, multi-generational community.

Ability to function effectively as part of a high-performance team. Ability to de-escalate irate guests and identify solutions. Several years of related office work experience.
