ADMISSIONS LIAISON

  • Coordinate an effective, efficient admissions process for all patients.

  • Receive referrals, gather and verify pertinent information, and complete necessary procedures to schedule and admit inpatients and/or outpatients.

  • Play a key role in the referral process and compile/input statistical information into hospital systems.

Credentials:

  • One or more years of experience with hospital admissions procedures and regulatory guidelines for admissions required.

  • Licensure as a clinician preferred.

  • One or more years of clinical experience and a strong understanding of multidisciplinary levels of care preferred.

As an admissions coordinator, you are the start of our patients' journey to safety and wellness. The admission coordinator works with patients, counselors, families, community members, and hospitals to arrange for patients to enter treatment in our hospital. The job duties include: * In person assessment of potential patients for admission to inpatient or substance use treatment. * Coordinating care with hospitals and other referral sources. * Answering phones, providing referrals, and scheduling assessments. * Insurance pre-certifications (Utilization Review). . : Job Requirements The ideal candidate for this position will: * Be a licensed RN or Master's level clinician with an unrestricted license, graduated from an accredited college. Licensure as an RN, LMSW, LPC, LCPC, or LCSW is required. * Have experience completing psychiatric assessment. * Flexibility and willingness to adapt to a variety of roles and needs within the department. * Excellent communication skills – experience with motivational interviewing, treatment planning, or crisis intervention a plus! * Knowledge of patient rights, advance directives, and federal/state laws relating to mandatory reporting and EMTALA. * For RN Candidates: Knowledge of medical nursing procedures, taking orders, and nurse to nurse assessments.
