ABOUT VOORHEES UNIVERSITY
Voorhees University is a private, diverse, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Position: Admissions Counselor/ Recruiter
Department/Division: Admissions/Enrollment Management
Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Position Duration: Full-time
Position Schedule: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Extended hours, weekends, and travel may be required)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collects, reviews, processes admissions applications for input into computer database according to institutional policy.
Assumes responsibility for recruitment in assigned areas to include high schools, technical schools, churches, community organizations, festivals and other public and private functions.
Evaluates prospective student records and determines admission status, if requested.
Assist with the planning and executing programs sponsored by the Office of Admissions & Recruitment such as High School Visitation Day, Summer Orientation, campus tours, etc.
Visits and establishes professional relationships with guidance counselors, principals and other officials from schools and other agencies.
Conducts tours, lectures, exhibits and seminars for prospective students and/or parents.
Maintains telephone and written contact with students who have been admitted, but not yet registered.
Assists with coordination of out-of-state recruitment within the CACRAO zones, to include alumni chapters.
Counsels and guides prospects and applicants regarding the admissions process and requirements, with continued responsibility for those who are admitted throughout the matriculation process.
Schedules and conducts sessions or home visits with student and their parents to assist in formulating educational and occupational goals, to include financing their education.
Perform all other duties as required to support the Mission on the University, its enrollment goals and the department.
