The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is looking to hire an Admissions Counselor II position. It will be based at our Atlanta campus.

These positions will focus on in-house university recruitment activities to attract first year and transfer students to Georgia State University, as well as assist with processing applications to the university. This position requires strong troubleshooting, strong customer service skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and interpreting Office, University, and Board of Regents policies relevant to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This position will report to the Assistant Director of the Welcome Center.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties Include:

  • Assist and participate in on-campus student recruitment events. Assist in managing the CRM system in relation to campus tours.

  • Responsible for data management of daily tours. Conduct scheduled on-campus Information Sessions and campus tours.

  • Meet with prospective students and guests after the campus tour to counsel applicants with regards to admissions requirements and procedures.

  • Enter all prospective student data information into the CRM system and follow up with prospective students via email and phone regarding their tour, visit, and questions they have about Georgia State University.

  • Assist the Assistant Director to hire, terminate, train, and manage the part-time student tour guides/ student assistants and manage the student tour guide program

  • Coordinate Human Resource activities, including: eTIME, performance reviews, discipline, resolving conflict, and termination of part-time student employees.

  • Counsel prospective students and applicants on the admissions requirements and procedures for Georgia State University.

  • Assist and collaborate with the processing team to review academic and non-academic documents for the purpose of admission to Georgia State University. This includes the evaluation and review of high school and/or college transcripts, review SAT/ACT scores to determine admissibility of freshmen applicants, calculating cumulative GPAs to determine admissibility of transfer applicants, and data enter transfer credits for those applicants that are determined admissible.

  • Provide customer service via email and phone regarding student information

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating student outreach programs
    • Assisting in the development and delivery of on-campus events and programs for counseling groups and individuals
    • Experience with Banner or Slate
