Job Responsibilities
OCtech's Student Services team provides admissions counseling, placement testing, and recruitment services for assigned recruiting territory and high schools.
Develops and implements recruiting initiatives for the college's Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing programs throughout service area schools and surrounding communities.
Works independently with area high school guidance staff and OCtech Student Services staff to test, admit and finalize prospective high school student enrollment. Meets with high school guidance staff to conduct Accuplacer testing within the schools and/or to acquire previous placement test data and transcripts needed to admit and register high school applicants.
Provides prospective students with assistance in completing the enrollment process. Provides prompt and accurate information on the steps necessary to complete the enrollment process for telephone, online, and in-person applicants.
Provides admissions and enrollment services to high schools, community agencies & general public within assigned recruiting territories. Provides admissions criteria, financial aid advising, curriculum assessment, and testing to assigned area high schools, community agencies, on-campus visitors, and the public in general. This consists of but is not limited to providing an overview of the programs offered, financial aid, testing needed, and how to transfer into the college.
Assists with planning and conducting campus tours of Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, and other programs at the college. Coordinates with the Dean of Advanced Manufacturing and Program Coordinators to plan and conduct at least two campus tours annually.
Assists with recruiting events both on and off campus. Assists with planning of Open Houses, Senior Acceptance Day, High School Recruitment, and Business Outreach efforts.
Assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing Accuplacer testing for assigned service area high schools.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field or Bachelor's degree and two (2) years experience in Student Services. Master's degree in student services, student personnel, guidance or counseling is preferred.
Additional Comments
Must be able to work under limited supervision to develop, coordinate and implement hands-on recruiting initiatives.
Position requires extensive travel within Orangeburg & Calhoun counties and will involve transporting and setting up exhibits that can weigh up to 30 lbs.
