Summary
Process paperwork each patient needs prior to being admitted in a timely manner to ensure the surgery experience is positive.
Education Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Required
Position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience working or volunteering in a hospital or healthcare facility.
Essential Functions
Greet patients upon arrival and confirm prescheduled procedures
Collect and verify basic patient information and billing information
Review the patient's insurance ensure that it's valid, make copies of the insurance card and the patient's identification card
Collects amount due to surgery center, such as co-pays, and provides receipt
Instructs patient to read and sign admissions forms, release forms and insurance forms; inspects the forms to ensure each has a signature, makes copies as needed
Describes hospital rules, such as visitor guidelines and surgical process
Answer general questions from visitors, answer incoming phone calls, help with delivery of supplies.
Assist with miscellaneous office work and cleaning, including the waiting area
Print daily log every morning and lay out folders for the physician's on the schedule that day
