The admission counselor contributes to the pursuit of the university's enrollment goals through recruitment efforts within a specific assigned territory. The counselor is knowledgeable about TU programs and services and serves as a positive representative of TU at college fairs, high school visits, community programs, interviews, on-campus events and during daily visits. The counselor identifies prospective students within the territory through travel and by personal outreach including phone, text and email. In addition to prospective students, the admission counselor develops positive relationships with high school counselors, parents and alumni within the territory. The admission counselor is responsible for encouraging interest in TU, assisting with application generation and completion, making admission decisions, assisting families with the financial aid process, and serving as the TU point of contact for any other issues that arise during the admission process.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Plan and implement recruitment strategy for first-year students in assigned territory.
Meet regularly with directors of recruitment to monitor progress towards goals and make changes and adjustments to recruitment strategy as needed.
Attend high school visits, college fairs, off-campus interviews and regional/school specific programming.
Conceptualize, organize, host, or participate in on-campus programming, including daily visits, admission event programs, one-on-one and group interviews, and presentations.
Conceptualize, organize, host, or participate in off-campus programming, receptions, dinners, one-on-one and group interviews, and presentations.
With directors of recruitment and data team, conduct territory-specific data collection, analysis, and strategy development.
Provide consistent and comprehensive outreach to prospective students, families, and other university constituents via email, phone, mail, text, and other online platforms.
Respond promptly to prospective students, parents, and other university constituents' requests via email, phone, text, and other online platforms.
Establish ongoing communication with high school guidance counselors.
Establish a parent and alumni network.
Conducts summer educational outreach programming.
Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with students and families.
Requires working with highly sensitive or confidential information.
Evenings, weekends, and overnight travel required.
Other duties as assigned.

Previous experience working in a university setting or admission or recruitment related experience; and previous experience working in Slate, Colleague, ImageNow or any other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
