Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Dean's Office of the Bryan School of Business and Economics provides direction for the School based on its vision, mission, and priorities. The Dean's Office manages resources and coordinates various administrative functions to enable the departments and programs within the Bryan School to operate efficiently and effectively. The 2nd largest unit at UNCG in terms of enrollment and student credit hour production, the Bryan School is home to more than 4,100 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in 19 majors, six master's degrees, and four PhD programs.
The Office of External Affairs within the Bryan School is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with all of the School's important constituents: prospective and current students, community and industry partners, and alumni. Activities also include elevating the School's brand through strategic marketing and communications.
Position Summary
This Administrative Support Specialist plays an important role in facilitating the work of various teams throughout the Bryan School of Business and Economics, including the Dean's Office, Office of External Affairs, and other centralized student support programs.
Routine efforts may include financial processing (purchasing and payments), scheduling, record maintenance, workflow coordination, and other related tasks. Activities shall contribute to the success of key Bryan School initiatives: student enrollment, student career readiness, alumni engagement, brand awareness, and community/industry impact. Individual shall also serve as the School's primary liaison with UNCG Facilities with regards to building issues.
Key attributes for success in this role include an ability to work in dynamic teams and self-initiate activities to meet work objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND ONE YEAR OF RELATED OFFICE EXPERIENCE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.

Prior administrative experience in a fast-paced office environment.
Experience with scheduling, financial processing, and/or program assistance, particularly in higher education.

Assist with the general operations of the Dean's Office through contributing to office coverage and providing excellent customer service. Employee will participate in activities designed to enhance work flow and productivity throughout the unit.
Partner with Executive Assistant in executing internal events to promote employee engagement.
Additional assignments may also arise as directed by supervisor or administrators, guided by the business needs of the School. This may include providing temporary administrative backup for departments that require additional or unplanned assistance.

Building management on behalf of Bryan School
Essential Tasks
Take lead on monitoring and coordinating building needs, as directed by supervisor and Bryan School administrators.
Serve as the School's primary liaison with UNCG Facilities with regards to building issues. This includes proactively observing issues, submitting work orders, and engaging in follow-up to ensure timely resolution.
Whenever special building projects arise, actively engage with University partners in the project management process, advocating for the School's needs.
Other tasks include: key distribution, coordinating office moves, furniture procurement/surplussing, and facilitating building inspections and related safety activities.
