Technology Job Description

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Plan, coordinate, implement, test, repair, design, configure, install, support all aspects of voice network, systems, services and projects to ensure highest quality, cost effective 7X24 availability of voice network services and functions to all McLane Company teammates and business entities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:

  • Resolve voice network systems and services problems throughout the McLane Company network.

  • Coordinate resolution efforts of others to maintain high network availability.

  • Provide recommendations to proposed telecom network/systems designs with respect to ease of installation, support and recoverability.

  • Coordinate requests for telecom network/systems/services bids, review and recommend contractor selection.

  • Inspect and validate the work of telecom network contractors performing telecom systems installation to ensure strict compliance to standards and specified design.

  • Design and implement telecom services and solutions to meet stated business needs.

  • Review and recommend changes to telecom teammate designs and project plans of telecom services.

  • Review and coordinate improvements to existing telecom network procedures and documentations for efficient and cost effective delivery of highly available telecom services.

  • Satisfy and coordinate end user requests to completion.

  • Provide technical advice and leadership on major projects to ensure continued delivery of high efficiency telecom networks and services.

  • Assimilate, document and provide management with weekly updates of all assigned projects and significant activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

A teammate in this position must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • 3 years Cisco VOIP experience
  • 3 years Cisco Finesse experience
  • 3-5 years of project leadership in administering Cisco voice systems
