General Summary of Position:

The individual in this position manages the practice support staff and functions related to the clinical operations of the Department of Psychiatry. A key member of the management team, with oversight of the clinical practice operations which include, but is not limited to: administrative operations for clinical practices for each Division, human resources-related activities for practice support staff, development and implementation of policies and procedures, assistance with clinical operations financial management, oversight of IDX scheduling, oversight of electronic medical record processes as applied to practice support staff, participation in development and implementation of Departmental policies and procedures, participation in development of Departmental goals, program and staff development, accountability for administrative processes and daily tasks, coordination of clinical services, and participation in maintaining regulatory standards related to CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and patient safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Preferably in Health Care Management

  • Three to five years experience in managing a health care office required; previous personnel management experience as well as financial management preferred.

  • Previous experience with computerized registration systems.

  • Working knowledge of IDX / GE Centricity Business preferred.

  • Previous experience with an electronic health record system desired, especially Cerner.

  • Ability to perform in a high pressure environment and appropriately motivate staff.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, and good telephone etiquette.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, HMO/PPO insurances.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of different individuals.

Interacts with community leaders and other healthcare organizations to develop and nurture relationships and networks for improved data interoperability and integration.<br />  <br /> Collaborates with IS staff, clinicians, and others to optimize system availability, performance, reliability and user satisfaction. Interacts internally and externally to advance knowledge and understanding of technologies used and available.<br />  <br /> Establishes and maintains vendor partnerships that optimize technology solutions for the organization. Utilizes professional affiliations to keep organization current and aware of technology possibilities.<br />  <br />  <br />  <br />  <br />  <br /> <strong><u>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: </u></strong><br />   <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Performs systems maintenance tasks, such as back-up, recovery, patching, upgrades, tuning, and fixes.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Deploys, monitors, administers, and manages the lifecycle of system and enterprise software, including Windows Exchange and Active Directory in physical, virtualized and cloud based environments.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Manages software licensing and user accounts. Troubleshoots, detects the root cause of, and resolves technical problems.
