Overview

RN - Administrator - Home Health

Branch location: Bartlett, TN

Adoration Home Health is currently seeking an Administrator for our Home Health and Private Duty operations in West Tennessee. This is an excellent opportunity to build your Administrator skills while working with a top healthcare provider in the region.

Responsibilities

  • The Administrator ensures quality and safe delivery of Hospice services; coordinates services that reflect Hospice's philosophy and standards of care; and plans, develops, implements and evaluates Hospice services, programs and activities

  • Organizes and directs Hospice's ongoing liaison among the Governing Body and staff

  • Employees qualified personnel and ensures adequate staff education and evaluations

  • Ensures the accuracy of public information materials and activities

  • Implements an effective budgeting and accounting system; assures accuracy for billing procedures

  • Shares copies of philosophy with all employees

  • Consistently follows Hospice policies and procedures to set an example for employees

  • Negotiates required contracts and ultimately oversees contract provisions

  • Assesses employees on an ongoing basis to ascertain their understanding of policies and procedures

  • Assists employees to support policies and achieve necessary changes

  • Uniformly enforces policies and procedures

  • Maintains two way communication with employees and fair administration of personnel policies

  • Documents employee problems in personnel files

  • Disciplines employees as necessary

  • Directs Hospice's ongoing functions

  • Monitors budget hours and does not exceed allowance each year

  • Monitors equipment abuse and takes steps to keep it to a minimum

  • Evaluates effectiveness and efficiency of Hospice

  • Uses statistical data to determine quality and quantity of services

  • Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations and accreditation standards

  • Supervises all business affairs

  • Develops, implements and evaluates financial policies and procedures and records

  • Develops, implements and evaluates budget plan and cost control policies and procedures

  • Develops and implements salary program within approved policies and procedures

  • Participates in personal professional growth and development

  • Plans and directs operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services

  • Fiscal planning, budgeting and management

  • Recruits employees and retains qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels

  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication

  • Ensures personnel have current clinical information and material about current practices

  • Evaluates services and programs

  • Ensures staff development including orientation, in service education and continuing education

  • Coordinates with other program areas and management as appropriate

  • Maintains current knowledge of local trends and issues

  • Ensures that appropriate service policies are developed and implemented

  • Directs staff in performance of their duties including admission, discharge and provision of service to patients

  • Assures appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours

  • Ensures the accuracy of public information materials and activities

  • Establishes and oversees the Quality Assessments/Performance Improvement Program

  • Appoints a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the Administrator

Qualifications

  • A person who is a licensed physician, or

  • Is a registered nurse, or

  • Has training and experience in health services administration and at least two years of supervisory or administrative experience in Hospice or related health program

  • Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills

  • Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress

  • Ability to enlist the cooperation of many people in furthering a program

Overview Our Health Services Administrator (HSA) is a professional administrator who manages and evaluates the Health Care Delivery Program in accordance with State and Local Regulations; ensures medical, dental, and mental health program activities are based upon goals, objectives, aims, and policies and procedures of The Company and the facility; and are compliant with ACA, NCCHC and State accreditation standards. Qualifications Education: * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Nursing School Experience: * Three (3) or more years administrative, management and supervisory experience * Delivery and administration of correctional medical, dental, and mental health care recommended * Organizational experience in operations and planning required * Sound decision-making skills required * Experience in managing budgets and analyzing contracts preferred Licenses/Certifications: * Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state in which you work, or a valid compact state nurse license * Current CPR Certification Responsibilities * Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of procedures and programs. * Evaluate financial and statistical data, program needs and problems, and makes recommendations for improvements. * Develop, utilize, revise, interpret, and ensure compliance with The Company and facility policies and procedures. * Monitor subcontracted services to include pharmacy, lab, x-ray, and specialty providers. * Maintain communication and a good working relationship with facility administration, The Company employees, correctional personnel, contracted providers, and outside agencies. * Evaluate and recommend methods of improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. * Oversee recruitment, orientation, and performance evaluations of employees. * Provide regular staff meetings and ensure effective communication with all staff on all shifts. * Assume responsibility for planning, providing, and monitoring staff orientation and participation in education and staff development programs. * Assist in recruitment of contracted professional providers (physicians, dentists, psychologists, etc.). * Ensure appropriate licensure, credentialing, and insurance coverage on all medical personnel, i.e. - physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists and social workers. * Oversee services rendered by contractors and professional staff. * Ensure reports are submitted as required in a timely and accurate manner. * Audit weekly logs and accounts payable forms, forwards them to the The Company home office as required. * Screen all requests for records and approve/disapprove responses as appropriate. * Maintain confidentiality and security of health records and medical information. * Review status of patients with serious health problems ensuring all necessary intervention and treatment is completed. * Monitor in-patient hospitalizations closely with utilization management to ensure early release whenever possible. * Audit referrals to outside consultants. * Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses and explores utilizing all appropriate means of limiting both The Company and contractor's liabilities. * Monitor pharmacy use to ensure adherence to formulary. * Oversee the utilization of special housing, infirmary beds, and outside inpatient and outpatient services for appropriateness and quality of services provided. * Maintain an awareness of overall concepts of managed care and make administrative judgments to ensure care provided is compatible with these concepts. * Function as a liaison between other professional organizations. * Ensure, where available, NCCHC accreditation of the medical program by ensuring the presence of the required level or organizational efficiency and the provision of approved and appropriate medical services. * Accept on-call status. * Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences. * May be asked to travel overnight for two to four days. * May be asked, but not required, to relocate temporarily or permanently as needs require. * Promote Quality Improvement standards by actively participating in the quality of care screen audits. * Post Orders, if applicable, per site contract. * Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations. * Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations. * Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. * Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details. * Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis. * Perform other duties as assigned.
