Under general supervision, this position within the Employee Technology Operations Engineering team is responsible for providing hardware and software technology support in the Desktop and Citrix virtual desktop realm. Support small and large scale desktop management deployments, migrations, and virtualization utilizing the latest Desktop, Citrix, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Solutions. Responds to and diagnoses problems or performs general maintenance tasks through discussions with users and research, then isolates issues allowing for resolution steps to be performed either through remote servicing or in person to best meet employee needs. The candidate contributes to the planning of a comprehensive Desktop and Citrix virtualization vision and strategy for First National of Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized in-person or remote technology support service to customers and ensure all requests/resolutions are recorded

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the network connectivity of end user devices such as desktops, laptops, thin clients and printers

  • Build and deliver end user devices and configure settings for current and new employees, including replacement devices based on individual requirements

  • Provide support for the FNN Desktop/Citrix/VDI/XenMobile infrastructure and ongoing evaluation of end-user requirements (PC vs. Virtual)

  • Help maintain an inventory of devices, including proper device retirement procedures

  • Perform Quality Assurance checks for devices built by the team to ensure they meet documented requirements

  • Assist in developing and maintaining processes for automated hardware builds

  • Understand the function of and use Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) in the management of desktops and sending/monitoring of software update packages

  • Evaluate next versions of software based on business needs, compliance, and usability and determine deployment steps

  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows applications, as well as experience supporting Microsoft products such as Windows 7, 10, Office, Exchange, Active Directory

  • Support employee moves by gathering employee requirements, coordinating appropriate FNIT resources, requesting and executing appropriate device and permission changes for moving employees throughout the FNNI buildings

  • Ensure all systems and processes are properly documented; actively share knowledge and experience with other team members.

  • Work with all support groups, as applicable, and act as primary on assigned projects related to the Desktop and VDI environments

  • Understand our business partners' and customers' needs, look for what value we can provide, and tailor our offering to match requirements

  • Work with the IT Asset Management team to ensure proper licensing for software install requests

  • Maintain the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position through training and professional development opportunities

  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

  • One or more years of experience in an enterprise information technology environment

  • Knowledge and experience with the latest Microsoft desktop (Windows 7,10) operating systems

  • Strong organizational, analytic, and complex problem solving skills

The primary duty of the Transit Engineering Business Class Director, is to provide strategic focus on positioning HDR as a preferred service provider in the area of Transit Engineering. The Transit Engineering BC Director will provide technical leadership in all aspects of the delivery of projects involving Transit Engineering.
