Administrator Allied Health and Support Services - Winnie Palmer Hospital
Orlando Health's Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies is seeking an Administrator of Allied Health and Support Services who will plan, lead, organize, direct and evaluate the allied health and support service departments of the hospital and other areas as assigned. The Administrator will collaborate with Orlando Health leadership, Hospital President and administration, the hospital management team, medical staff leadership and the medical staff. This position will be directly supported by the Chief Operating Officer of Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital.
Key components of this leadership role include monitoring of quality, patient satisfaction, team member engagement and budgeting standards, while managing to achieve hospital and organization goals. As Administrator for Allied Health and Support Services, this position is a member of the administrative team and will serve on various committees of the hospital and the organization.

Six (6) years of experience in management of a clinical, allied health, or support service department required.
Leadership experience in a managed care environment, including productivity enhancement, cost reduction, new program development, and quality management is also required.
Essential Functions of this role include:
Ensures that a continuous improvement approach is implemented to measure actual performance against established standards for clinical services throughout the hospital.
Develops and implements mechanisms to ensure a uniform quality of care and the highest customer service is provided.
Establishes mechanisms to encourage research and to incorporate research findings into standards of care and policies and procedures.
Measures actual budgetary performance (revenue, expense, staffing) against standards, and ensures variances are within established targets.
Evaluates performance of persons reporting to the position against organizational, departmental, and personal goals and objectives.
Ensures that safety, health, and regulatory standards are attained in the divisions assigned.
Ensures that a program is maintained to encourage the recruitment and retention.

Develops/ implements personal goals/objectives that support the organization strategic/operating plans and patient care services.
Assures that professional standards are effectively carried out throughout hospital allied health and support areas.
Provides accountability and coordination of allied health and support services within the hospital.

Participates in various quality and patient satisfaction meetings and actively supports the team in reaching goals.
Develops, interprets and promotes the formation of the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Orlando Health.
Develops and implements operational plans for the hospital in conjunction and consistent with the overall Orlando Health strategic goals. Establishes system for control of variances.
Participates in space and facility planning with COO.
Establishes and maintains an open and positive working relationship with board members, physicians, managers, employees, patients and visitors and the community.
Participates with leaders from management, medical staff and patient care areas in hospital's decision-making structure and process.
Participates in evaluating, selecting and integrating health care technology and information management systems that support allied health and support service needs.
Implements effective, ongoing programs to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of clinical care in collaboration with organizational goals and objectives.
Provides direct support and assistance to the managers and staff members assigned for the full accomplishment of their assigned duties and responsibilities.
Participates in any contract or negotiations, which affect allied health and support services of the hospital. Monitors compliance of contracts.
Recruits, develops, retains and evaluates qualified managers and staff members, recognizing the full accomplishments of staff assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ensures a method to monitor customer satisfaction with respect to services delivered, utilizing corporate and/or unit specific tools.
Participates in the Quality Assessment and Improvement Program of Orlando Health.
Assures compliance of assigned areas of responsibility.
Participates actively with other Orlando Health Administrators that oversee radiology, nuclear medicine, laboratory, cardiology, rehab, food & nutrition, wound care center, environmental and other clinical service areas as assigned and a liaison to Allied Health Executive Councils to ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation and revision practice standards.
Collaborates in the development of a pro-forma for expansion of services in allied health and patient areas.
Assists in the professional development of personnel.
Maintains, revises and implements changes in allied health service policies and procedures to meet all licensing agency requirements, (i.e. Joint Commission, local and state regulatory agencies).
Develops hospital budget for allied health and support service areas with input from managers and other hospital personnel. Develops budgets with other leaders and other hospital personnel that address the provision of services to inpatients and outpatients in each area or department.
Establishes budget requirements and maintains areas of responsibility within budgetary limitation.
Speaks on behalf of hospital allied health and support services in established meetings of hospital leadership, medical staff, and governing bodies.
Develops staff to make effective decisions and delegates authority to lowest appropriate level.
Acts as resource person and role model for staff.
Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues related to allied health and support services, and manages situations to reduce risk to patients, staff and the organization.
Supports all policies, procedures, goals and objectives of Orlando Health.
Participates in meetings where discussion is held regarding hospital's mission, strategic planning, budget planning, operational planning and review of policies that directly or indirectly affect patient care and/or operations of the hospital.
Serves as a member of various hospital and organizational committees.
Collaborates with other hospital leaders and educators to influence curriculum, including clinical and/or management learning experience.
