MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, direct and coordinate Department of Transportation (DOT) driver recruitment efforts to include the onboarding of new hires as it relates to policies and procedures. Work with Managers and Client to ensure recruitment is in line with Client needs.

  • Coordinate recruiting efforts

  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates; through networking efforts in the community

  • Attend career fairs and job fairs to aid in recruiting

  • Develop and implement referral program

  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits

  • Perform filing and record maintenance for, but not limited to personnel, driver qualification files (DQF) in compliance with DOT rules and regulations and other employment related files, medical files, substance testing files, employment background files, criminal background files, inactive employee files and inactive applicant files

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree preferred

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources or in operations

  • DOT experience preferred

  • Supervisory experience

  • Effective communication skills

  • Clear understanding of practices relating to the Company, DOT, OSHA and other local, state and federal employment or transportation laws

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

  • Must be able to multi-task

Job Duties: * Assist our Recruiters with job postings, HRIS support, career fair coordination, candidate interview coordination, travel arrangements and document preparation * Assist our HR Team with onboarding and integration tasks including pre-employment paperwork, background checks and drug testing coordination * Complete I9 verifications, prepare and distribute new hire books and schedule orientations * Utilize the HRIS system to prepare correspondence, reports, and materials for publications and presentations * Audit new-hire training reports (i.e. Anti-Harassment, employee handbook, Safety program, and Cybersecurity) * Assist with preparation and coordination of HR training sessions and employee events * Calendar and expense management for the HR Team * Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system (HRIS) * Perform other administrative duties to include, but not limited to, photocopying, faxing, supply ordering, mailing, scanning, filing, and note typing Requirements: * 5+ years of experience in an administrative role providing group or team support; previous experience supporting a Human Resources department preferred * Strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong punctuation, grammar and editing skills * Proficient in MS Office Suite; highly proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook; prior experience with HRIS preferred * Positive outlook and strong client service focus * Collaborative and team-oriented * Highly organized and detail-oriented * Self-motivated with ability to work independently * Capable of managing and balancing multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment * Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Kimley-Horn in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
