In this role you will work 32 hrs/wk (4 8-hour days) in the BPA Olympia District. Time is split between Olympia, WA and Chehalis, WA. This position carries out recurring office procedures independently, and selects the guidelines or reference that fits the specific case. The BPA manager may provide instructions on new assignments and/or check completed work for accuracy.

This position is located in a small, close-knit office environment. Successful candidates will be well-organized, have a strong attention to detail, can multi-task well and must possess strong people skills.

Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of related administrative/customer service experience or equivalent combination.

  • Well qualified typist, skill in using Microsoft Office Suite of products, and skill in operating common office equipment.

  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience in administrative support functions

Desired Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

Working knowledge of SharePoint is desired.

The pace is fast and the work is rewarding. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Deputy Assistant Director, keeping their calendar up to date and managing travel. The division will look to you to manage all travel requests for our staff, ensuring the requests are submitted and processed correctly. You will also provide support to the division staff, scheduling and booking conference rooms and setting up conference calls, both onsite and offsite . You are the liaison to our technical staff, making sure all technology needs are in place and working. As the division's records coordinator, you will collaborate with staff, making sure the file room stays organized. You will manage our records, ensuring all paper and electronic records are kept, destroyed, or archived according the State and DES retention schedule. You will participate on the all-staff committee that plans division activities and are dedicated to making work fun.
