The primary purpose of a Administrative Support Technician, is to serve as the focal point, local authority and expert source for information in providing a wide variety of orderly room/administrative support for the organization. These support responsibilities are comprised of the following type of duties.

Serves as the focal point, local authority and expert source for information for all administrative functions of the unit. As Work Group Administrator provides technical support and troubleshooting for daily network operations including identifying issues and resolving problems, and documenting
the problem history and solution. Assignments are given with information on general administrative changes, deadlines, and priorities.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
Must have at least 9 months experience performing administrative work, gathering information, compiling data and preparing reports. Experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or law. Experience using oral and written communication.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS.
