THIS RECRUITMENT IS FOR TWO POSITIONS 60038851, AND 60038633

The Workforce Education Unit Administrative Associate I position completes Initial Data Entry and Data Entry for electronic education documentation and official transcripts received from the child care workforce; Enters information into an Excel spreadsheet for specific paperwork; Answers Workforce Education Unit phones providing contact for the child care workforce and other DCDEE staff; Provides information regarding the status of education paperwork; Assists walk-in customers to DCDEE who have questions regarding education requirements; Accesses DCDEE WORKS and Scribbles to complete data entry and provide customer service; backup for the mail intake for the Workforce Education Unit.

The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) implements quality standards for child care and increases access to families and their children across North Carolina. NCGS 110-85 requires that the State protect children in child care facilities by ensuring that these facilities provide a physically safe and healthy environment where the developmental needs of the children are met and where these children are cared for by qualified persons of good moral character.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified applicants must document on the application that they possess all of the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in Data Entry

  • Experience with Microsoft software applications (word, excel) and data bases

  • Experience with electronic filing systems

  • Demonstrated experience in an office setting answering phones and engaging in internal and external customers

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
