Job Summary:

Performs a variety of administrative/clerical functions ranging from routine to moderately difficult for the department. Operates various PC software programs to create and maintain various documents and databases. Records and tracks legal documents and/or accounting and ensures turn-around deadlines. Generates computer reports and other support documents. Performs filing, record keeping, mailings, data entry and printing. Answers telephones, refers messages and distributes mail. Provides outgoing telecommunication support to department. Greets visitors and set up training and conference rooms for meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Works independently to process daily workloads and tracks information to confirm timely processing.

  • Accurately enters vital complaint information into a database, performs queries and creates monthly reports and other support documents.

  • Provides administrative support, i.e. responds to verbal and written inquiries and requests from outside customers.

  • Provides general administrative/clerical support to the department.

  • Continues education to remain current with new software programs and program updates.

  • Supports co-workers.

  • Completes special projects or tasks as required.

  • Organizes archiving for permanent storage.

Complexity of Duties:

  • Employee works under minimal supervision. Detailed instruction given for new lines of work or special assignments. Responsibilities are mostly repetitive.

  • Contacts are both internal and external.

  • Ability to work independently. Plans, schedules and arranges own activities to accomplish objectives.

  • Ability to manage confidential information.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to generate and prepare reports.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.

  • PC experience and proficiency in database and word processing required.

  • Strong organizational skills to execute, track, and follow-up on various projects with attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or (GED);
  • 2-4 years of related experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including telephone skills.

  • Strong grammar skills. Ability to proofread and check various documents.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and record management skills.

  • PC experience and proficiency in database and word processing software required, Microsoft Office preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills to execute, track, and follow-up on various projects and assignments with attention to detail.

  • Strong typing/data entry skills.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to sit/work at a computer terminal for periods of time. Moderate noise (i.e.: computer printers, traffic) exists daily in the work environment.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures. Responsibilities and Specific Duties * Supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots operating systems in the desktop and server environments. * Supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots Windows desktop and server operating systems and hardware especially as they relate to system configuration manager patch/software deployments. * Responsible for preparing systems for upgrades of desktop operating system version. * Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures and documentation. * Develops and implements procedures and documentation for patch management, operating system deployment as well as other system configuration manager functions. * Provide system metrics, root cause analysis and proactive monitoring. * Recommend and schedule maintenance and repairs. * Develop and maintain technical documentation for all systems. * Manages assigned work orders. * Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum four (4) years' experience in relevant computing environment.Substantial knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining, operating and trouble-shooting an enterprise end user computing environment.Substantial knowledge of VMWare virtualization systems.Microsoft Power Shell scripting desirable.Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) desirable. Must have strong knowledge of desktop and server operating system environments.Must be able to apply strong knowledge of concepts, best practices and procedures for supporting Intel based blade system servers.Must have significant experience in managing, maintaining and implementing enterprise systems including applying software upgrades, security patches and planned maintenance for these systems.Ability to apply technical understanding to a broad range of technical solutions and interact with vendors and technical staff in the data center server environment.Good analytical skills in understanding complex relationships between various operating systems and specialty applications.Excellent customer service and organizational skills, with strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.Desire one or more certifications:MCSE, Microsoft Technology Specialist – System Center Configuration Manager (MSTS-SCCM), VMWare.Must pass a criminal background check to be cleared to work in a public safety environment with access to Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) data.
