Our hire is one of four staffers who supports the day-to-day operations of the Juvenile Probation Office by performing functions that include scheduling hearings for various parties; developing court dockets and court summons via a case management system; distributing court-related materials to relevant audience; maintaining up-to-date data with case management systems; receiving phone calls and customers, and directing to appropriate contact; and providing general clerical and administrative assistance to the office.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will possess a high school diploma or GED; at least two years' work experience maintaining confidential information, setting schedules and meeting deadlines, effective oral and written communications skills, effective interpersonal relations, proficiency handling multiple tasks, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to display grace under pressure.

This person contributes to the efficient operation of the judge’s chamber and the courtroom by performing various duties that include, but are not limited to: preparing the bench; updating courtroom staff schedules; verifying litigant transport; ensuring microphones and recording devices are operational; setting up remote participation, if necessary; screening witnesses and visitors for appropriate court attire; opening court; swearing-in witnesses, as needed; completing and distributing court-related paperwork; monitoring activities of jurors; and serving as communication liaison among jury, court, and attorneys. Tipstaff duties also involve administrative tasks such as retrieving and preparing files for court events, assisting with copying, faxing, distributing mail, answering the phone, and filing civil and criminal notices.<br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma or GED; have at least six months’ experience in an office environment; strong customer service orientation; demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communications skills; computer literacy; abilities to effectively diffuse antagonistic dealings; and maturity to maintain confidential information.</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Benefits will start the first of the month following 30 calendar days and include 90% employer-paid PPO healthcare with vision and three-tier prescription components, pension plan, defined contribution plan, 14 annual paid holidays and other time-off provisions.
