Responsibilities

The Administrative Support Assistant, GS-0303-05/06/07, works for the Administration Division at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. The park is seeking applicants for three positions.

One position will be duty stationed at park headquarters in Coulee Dam, WA or may be duty stationed at the Fort Spokane district office located 22 miles northwest of Davenport, WA. The second position will be duty stationed at the Fort Spokane district office. The third position will be duty stationed at the park district office in Kettle Falls, WA.

The positions perform critical administration functions such as, but not limited to: processing time and attendance; completing travel and training arrangements and related documents; processing purchase requests and completing credit card purchases for supplies and materials; providing budget preparation and tracking assistance; maintaining files and records; assisting park supervisors with tasks associated with HR processing and onboarding, serving as the park HR liaison to the Servicing Human Resources Office to facilitate completion of HR office requests; front office management including instructing employees on equipment use, troubleshooting equipment issues, processing mail, receiving deliveries, providing visitor services on phone an in-person; conducting property inventories and processing excess property; serving as tenant manager for the park's housing program. Regularly uses standard Department of Interior software applications such as FBMS, AFS4, Concur, Quicktime, HR Portal, FPPS, IQMIS, Microsoft Office, and email/messaging/chat/video conferencing programs.

May occasionally assist the supervisory fee program manager with retrieving data from Payment. Net. Supports park staff with administrative tasks as needed and as directed by the Administrative Officer.

Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-07/17/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.

SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires the skill of a qualified typist with the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. (Screen Out). Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing administrative functions such as payroll, personnel, travel, procurement, budget, and/or formal correspondence. You must include hours per week worked.

  • OR-

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least successfully completed four years of education above high school (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. You must include transcripts.

  • OR-

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. TOnly education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements.

Two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to l year of specialized experience. For example, I have six months of the specialized experience described in A above (50% of the experience requirement), and three years of college study from an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education). The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts.

To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: 1) distributing mail within the office ;(2) preparing travel authorizations and vouchers;(3) monitoring spending in assigned accounts;(4) maintaining property inventory records. You must include hours per week worked.

To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: (1) providing direction to staff on mail distribution and routing procedures ;(2) composing correspondences, reports, and work schedules for a department;(3) collecting data for operating budget;(4) conducting property inventories or report of surveys. You must include hours per week worked.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
