This position is a ~60-65% part time position(M-F ~5 hours per day) located at the College of Nursing, Vine School HealthCenter, 220 Langland Street, Knoxville, TN 37915. This position assists nursing students andnurse practitioner faculty at the Vine School Health Center, to provide qualitypatient care and educational experiences through administrative, clinical andother duties. These duties include, butare not limited to:

o Faxingand receiving medical records, orders and requests to and from other facilitiesand health care providers

o Scheduletests/procedures for patients

o Obtainpre-certification through the patient's insurance company for tests/procedures

o Referralsto specialists/agencies

o Insertimmunizations into TennIIS and print form for families

o Scanpaperwork for EHR

o Uploadpaperwork for EHR

o Assistwith weekly billing EHR and corrections

o Makereminder calls to patients being seen within the week

o UpdatePermission-to-Treat forms and insurance in the EHR

o Sendoff lab samples (call Quest)

o Faxinformation to appropriate people/place

o Answerthe phone if Admin Specialist III is unavailable

o Scheduleand check-in patients if Admin Specialist III is unavailable

o Preparepatient for nurse practitioner by obtaining vital signs (height, weight,temperature and blood pressure) per protocols if assistance is needed by RN

o Obtainand record the patients reason for visit

o Preparepatient and room for examinations

Required Skills

o Goodinterpersonal and communication skills

o Computerskills (Microsoft Office and web browsers) and experience with electronicmedical records (EHR)

o Knowledgeof taking vital signs and measurement of children

o Abilityto maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow multiple State and

Federal regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, EHR)

Qualifications

Education:

High school degree or GED or vocationaltraining or Associate's degree focused in Nursing or other healthcareprofessional field

Experience:
1 year of experience in a healthcare facility preferred

Time allotment will be approximately 25% Agriculture and Natural Resources; 25% Family and Consumer Sciences and 25% 4-H Youth Development and 25% Community Economic Development. Duties include: * Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status. * Greet clients and answer telephone requests in accordance with general instructions. * Prepare letters, newsletters, certificates, reports, records and other related documents from rough drafts, corrected copy, or recorded media; proofread completed materials and make corrections. * Complete event registration in SUPER for all program areas. * Enter data for 4-H enrollment and THDA. * Create online receipts. * Gather and compile information as requested for files or reports. * Maintain all administrative departmental, personnel, and financial records using the UT System as well as the hard copy files. * Utilize the personal computer programs of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SharePoint, Quicken and Outlook Explorer. * Inventory, order, account for, and maintain all office supplies and equipment. * Compose routine letters and replies based on general instructions. * Schedule meetings, reserve meeting rooms, arrange appointments as requested. * Stay updated on all Extension Policy and Procedures and other resources. * Attend administrative training, seminars, and conferences as needed to perform the job. * Organize and manage the Extension office as requested. * Assume other duties as assigned. Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills & abilities, licenses & certifications): * Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent. * Superior communication skills (written & verbal), ability to work with the public, organizational skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and social media, Excel and Quicken. Preferred/Desired Qualifications: * Additional education beyond high school diploma preferred. * Three or more year's office experience preferred. * Superior customer service skills with strong verbal and communications skills. * Experience with Share Point and updating/editing web sites.
