Performs a full range of administrative support functions and clerical duties in support of Human Resource in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.
Assists local application/ database administrator in performing tasks including password resets and user training
Manage property officials are accurate of ownership such as receipt, disruption, tracking, inventory, and disposition are all automated property management data base.
Coordinates travel plan authorizations and vouchers, and audits post-travel documents.
Purchase supplies and equipment using DOI guidelines. Maintain receipts, transactions, and reconcile change card statement; coordinate procurement/contracting staff on purchasing supplies over micro-purchasing.
Prepare documentation of all necessary transfers and prescribed records to Federal Record Center.
Processes incoming and outgoing mail transactions which includes distributing mail to the appropriate staff member and assembling out-going materials.
Prepare edits and finalize all correspondence for office employees. Distribute to appropriate personal by tracking and maintaining records.
Perform timekeeper duties by entering and validating, reviewing, coding, time and attendance records in the automated payroll system.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

This is a career seasonal position. You will be in pay status for at least 6 months, but less than 12 months per calendar year. When work and/or funds are unavailable, you will be placed into non-pay status. Pay status may be less than 6 months during initial appointment.
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled.
To qualify for GS-05: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent GS4 in the federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: performing clerical administrative duties such as processing mail; drafting correspondence; performing records management; computer software knowledge or experience in data entry; customer service; OR completed 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite; OR an equivalent combination of the experience and education as described above.
To qualify for GS-06: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) in the federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: performing clerical administrative duties, working with the public and providing customer service, skill in computer software programs.
To qualify for the GS-07: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) in the federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as drafting and editing a variety of business correspondence for proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; arrange meetings or conferences and skill in the use of a variety of office automation/software programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
If you are a current career seasonal employee, your time spent in non-pay status is not creditable towards meeting the specialized experience requirement of 52 weeks or 1 year (whichever is first). GS-05 grade level only: This position has a substitution of education for Specialized Experience. See qualification section for a description of the education substitution for specialized experience. Upon selection, official transcripts must be received prior to appointment. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
