This position is located within a National Forest. The primary duties include purchasing and procurement transactions, office machine operations, word processing, and special project assignments. The incumbent works closely with Forest Service employees as well as the public.

Supports and assists with a full range of purchasing and procurement needs of the unit. Requisitions office supplies, equipment, forms, printing services, maintenance services, etc. as required. Resolves non-recurring problems.

Receives and distributes supplies and special order items, reconciles purchases within the appropriate database in a timely manner.

Maintains procurement/purchasing files in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives and ensures procurement documentation is signed and attached.

May use database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort, calculate, and retrieve data for reports.

Receives visitors and handles calls of a routine nature, such as locations of key personnel and recreation opportunities. Has extensive knowledge of all other District activities and can answer inquiries regarding these. Responds to non-technical requests for information regarding office functions, status of reports, and other information as needed. Difficult, technical, or special questions are referred to the appropriate District Staff.

Receives data from multiple sources in multiple forms, reviews the data, and processes it to meet a variety of administrative needs. Examines documents and data for completeness, discrepancies, and other special requirements. Enters it into existing or newly developed databases using the appropriate software systems.

Reviews outgoing correspondence prepared in the official Correspondence Database submitted for supervisor's signature for grammatical accuracy and conformance with policy, and discusses deviations or discrepancies with the author. Establishes and maintains the unit's files in hardcopy and/or electronic format as required.

Prepares, audits, and transmits time and attendance reports for employees on the District.

Keeps all District employees informed of personnel policies and regulations, such as leave, compensation for injury, retirement, promotion, etc.

GS-05: (1) One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level.

Specialized experience is defined as: Performing general clerical support such as greeting visitors, maintaining files, and typing letters; assisting in the analysis of incoming routine and controlled correspondence, including mail, cables, faxes, and documents; reviewing sections of agency or organizational directives and procedures to perform routine tasks such as correspondence work, filing and processing mail

Successful completion of 4 years above high school.

A combination of education and experience listed above.

VIEW JOBS 10/26/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-24T00:00 Pay Scale: $15.15 - $20.20 Shift: Varied Job Summary: Under the direction of the Emergency Department Unit Director, the Emergency Department Unit Support Assistant/Monitor Tech performs clerical, secretarial and monitor tech duties inherent in the operation of the ED. The Unit Support Assistant/Monitor Tech works in an area of intense varied activity, which at times can be very stressful. The Unit Support Assistant/Monitor Tech must be able to keep calm and maintain a high level of efficiency regardless of surrounding distractions. Essential Duties: * Notifies admitting of change in patient status, admit or transfer. * Acts as a receptionist for the Unit; politely and professionally answers all calls "Emergency Department, How may I help you?", and routes to the appropriate person. Takes accurate messages and ensures that these messages reach the appropriate person. * Admits patient onto central monitor; prints rhythm strips and posts to the appropriate chart; notifies RN or appropriate staff member of status changes on the monitor, rhythm changes, and abnormal vital signs. * Acknowledges and silences monitor alarms in a timely manner and follows up with appropriate staff member when appropriate as above. * Acts as a communication liaison between other departments, physician offices, and patients' families dispensing information as directed. * Transcribes physician orders accurately. Accurately orders labs, imaging, diet and test for all patients * Coordinates the transfer of patients to another facility, including completion of necessary transfer forms and log. * Consults with and keeps Supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems related to the nursing area. * Organizes desk flow (i.e. xrays, charts, lab results). * Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintains good intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships. * Contacts outside physicians when requested by Emergency Department RNs and/or physicians. * Maintains the Emergency Department logs. * Prepares requisitions for diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients as directed and coordinates appointments with respective departments. * Facilitates scheduling of follow-up outpatient procedures. * Utilizes computer order entry to implement lab, radiology, and dietary orders. * Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. * Performs clerical duties related to procedures (i.e. admissions, discharges, transfers, deaths). * Notifies Nursing Coordinator or appropriate department of patient disposition; assembles and prepares appropriate charts and forms. * Files Emergency Department reports; maintains previous ED records. * Notifies Security of POH arrivals to the department. * Communication liaison between EMS, 911 Dispatch, & Police Officers. License/Certification: * Current arrhythmia certification within three months of hire date and updated annually.
